THE 7th ANNUAL MAIMONIDES
ACADEMY GOLF CLASSIC
Many of Maimonides' 500 students come from families that cannot afford the tuition. This is a the story of one of those students, a boy named "Daniel." In anticipation of Daniel's 13th birthday, his family began planning the Bar Mitzvah ceremony that would mark his right of passage from childhood to young adulthood. Daniel chose to embrace all the values he had learned at home and at school by marking the occasion of his Bar Mitzvah with volunteer work at the Los Angeles Mission. His interaction with those less fortunate than he, at a time when he was reaching adulthood, built the foundation for what would turn into a lifelong desire to help others.
Daniel's concern for and commitment to social awareness put him on a philanthropic path very early. The homeless community was the first recipient of many acts of kindness. Daniel, now a successful businessman, is helping underprivileged people on a scale he never dreamt possible. His generosity helps feed poor people across America, in Israel and in many other places throughout the world. Daniel is a graduate of Maimonides Academy.
For close to 40 years Maimonides Academy has been nurturing both the minds and souls of children in the Los Angeles area. Mixing a balanced curriculum of Judaic and General studies with social action programs, Maimonides provides a well-rounded education. Maimonides graduates are socially aware and committed to the welfare of the community at large.
Extensive fundraising allows Maimonides to provide scholarships so that all children can bene?t from this unique, well balanced educational environment. All proceeds from this tournament will bene?t the Scholarship Fund at Maimonides Academy. With your donation, children like Daniel are growing into educated, socially conscious young adults.
These children are tomorrow's leaders. An investment in their future is an investment in our future as well.
